Oscar Moreno
Chairman
Oscar is an entrepreneur and business angel specialised in finance, internet and media businesses. In addition to Qi GLOBAL, Oscar has been an early investor—and in some cases the founder—for Netjuice (internet incubator), Kelkoo (e-commerce search engine), Altex Partners (funds-of-hedge funds), Tuenti (social network), and Orchid Costa (real estate investment). Oscar is a former investment banker with more than 15 years of professional experience in the investment and finance industry. He holds degrees in law and business from ICADE (Madrid, Spain) and an MBA from INSEAD (Fontainebleau, France). He is currently the managing director at Orchid Costa.
Mette Kristine Oustrup
Chief Executive Officer
Mette Kristine Oustrup is the founder of Qi Global, a global network of innovators. A graduate in International Business and Marketing, Kristine originally joined the start-up phase of fashion group St Martins and later went to Hong Kong as Head of Special Projects for global lifestyle brand DIESEL. Her next adventure, as co-founder of the French trend agency Style-Vision in 2001, involved working with high-profile brands such as Chanel, Philips Design and Firmenich, while building bridges to other international trend agencies. Kristine invented the Style-Vision Round Table events held twice a year at the Grand Hotel Cap-Ferrat in the South of France, supported by the Financial Times newspaper. She also created the Mood Consumption Theory, later Elemental Experience Design (EED) merging Western and Asian thought and design processes into one flexible design and marketing tool. With her innovative ideas gaining more and more recognition in countries such France, USA and China, she was appointed “Goodwill Ambassador of Copenhagen” to represent and promote her country of birth.
Linda Ha
Head of Business Development
Linda Ha is the Head of Business Development for Qi. Starting her career in Silicon Valley, she provided strategic communications and public relations counsel to Fortune 500 high-technology companies and Internet start-ups. After moving to Los Angeles, she transitioned her marketing skills into the publishing world, focusing on managing luxury and lifestyle client brands. Most recently, she has been providing marketing counsel to local organizations, such as the National Volunteer and Philanthropy Centre. Originally from the United States, Linda holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Bucknell University.
Marina Setiawan
Marketing & Communications
Marina was born in Indonesia and moved to Queensland, Australia with her family during her teens. After completing her Diploma of Visual Arts, she worked in an advertising agency as a designer. Due to her bigger vision in life, she decided to return to the student world at Queensland University of Technology and graduated with a Bachelor of Business majoring in Accounting and Marketing. After her studies, she worked in the marketing department of a communications company in Australia. In December 2009, Marina and her entrepreneur husband moved to Singapore, where she found Qi.
Liza Ng
Webmaster
Liza is currently volunteering as Qi's webmaster. She joined Qi almost immediately after learning about it on the Internet because she wanted to help to make “human progress in harmony with nature” a reality. Liza graduated from Hwa Chong Institution in 2009 and will commence her undergraduate education at the Singapore University of Technology & Design in 2012. Her interests primarily lie in the fields of design, web development and computer programming, but she also enjoys picking up completely irrelevant skills like bread-making, singing and juggling, and once represented Singapore Schools as a high jumper.
Wang Lin
Administrative Assistant
Originally from China, Lin graduated from Singapore Management University in 2011 and is currently helping Qi with database management as well as some administrative tasks. Lin previously volunteered as a Chinese teacher at Mechai Pattana School in Buriram, Thailand, where she enjoyed her time with the lovely students and picked up some Thai. In her spare time, Lin enjoys reading books and hiking. She volunteers with Qi because she is delighted to spread the positive energy of Qi!
Bassam Jabry
Qi + Chemistry Collaboration
Bassam is the co-founder of Qi + Chemistry Collaboration for Sustainable Innovation. The collaboration aims to merge sustainability with design thinking to create world-class products through a series of ideation workshops. His passion is in generating creative ideas that solve real world problems. With his professional training combining both art and science, he has the ability to take on multifaceted challenges and restructure them in a coherent format that has helped clients like Dell, Philips, Siemens and Motorola innovate and deliver award-winning products to the market. Previously, Bassam spent five years at Philips Design, managing diverse accounts, including Philips Lighting, Domestic Appliances and Mobile Communications. His work was recently featured at the Singapore Art Museum and he has been hailed as one of the 40 leading designers of Singapore. His opinions and ideas on design have been featured on Channel News Asia and in SC Global publications. He is regularly invited to hold talks and seminars at corporate and academic institutions. Bassam was born in the UK and holds First Class BSc (Hons) in Product Design from Brunel University, UK.
Benjamin Yang
Innovation Advisor
Benjamin is a business strategist and organizational psychologist specializing in strategic innovation and corporate culture. Besides a degree in Marketing and International Business, Benjamin has received his Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment from the Singapore Workforce Development Agency and is also a certified Human Behaviorist and Business Process Re-engineer. He is the current CEO of Balanced Consultancy and is the business advisor for many SMEs. His past experience includes working in the Economic Development Board and leading a government team that explored how Singapore could derive economic benefits from the inaugural Youth Olympic Games. He has organized various strategic planning workshops where he helped many firms with their Vision, Mission and Values, Creative Thinking, Change Processes and imbuing an Innovation Culture. Having won numerous awards such as the The Bain Prize for Strategy, The Cast Laboratory Prize for Entrepreneurship and The Singapore Discovery Center Prize for International Business, he understands the important role that innovation plays in creating a competitive advantage for corporations.
Maria Darocas
Financial Director
Maria is responsible for all financial functions at Qi and has a wealth of expertise in finance and controllership. Prior to her experience in Spain as a Financial Director at Hudson (HHRR) Kelkoo (Internet) and Eurocontrol (Engineering), Maria also worked for Banco Atlantico in NY and Ernst & Young in Spain. Maria has a degree in economics from the University of Valencia in Spain.
